After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in biotechnology, I spent years working in the science world, pouring all my creative energy into logic, research, and problem-solving. But during the stillness of the COVID lockdowns, that same creativity found a new outlet in artistic expression. This shift was surprising to me, as I never connected the dots between the structured thinking I was trained in and the creativity that fuels art.

I have three main bodies of work. The first is inspired by people—their stories, their complexities, and the depth behind every individual. I carve figures into my abstract paintings to remind myself that no one is “simple.” We are all hard to define and understand, which only adds to individual beauty.

The second focuses on nature, celebrating its beauty while adding a personal flair. Painting in this style helps me feel connected to nature in a special way. Here I can honor the natural world we come from while leaving an imprint of my own inner landscape, blending the rawness of nature with the complexity of human consciousness.

The third is purely abstract, where I let my mind roam freely without any connection to physical reality, allowing color and form to take the lead. Sometimes these paintings carry deep emotional meaning for me, and other times they simply highlight the beauty found in colors and shapes coming together without any specific story.

I create art as a way to bring light, joy, and emotional connection into both my own life and the lives of others. I am inspired by cultures that view art not as just decoration, but as expression that reflects the depths of what it means to be human. Through my work, I hope to connect more deeply to others and to the deeper inner life that often goes unspoken but universally felt.
